Cavriana reports that nothing further has been heard from Tuscany and that the friends he wrote of are not stirring, but that the peace will bring many designs to light. The Corsicans are being courted by the common enemy to admit his ministers and have so far held firm. In Piedmont the negotiation over Pinerolo is under way, and between money, supplies and treachery he fears a great commotion there. The Admiral's deputies have reached Saint-Germain and the peace cannot now be long in concluding. The Diet in Germany is no longer expected, several of the princes summoned having stayed away and come to other arrangements among themselves; once peace is made in France the arms may be carried into another country, and the kingdom purged of its bandits and idle men. He asks to be told whether his earlier news gave satisfaction, and to have his letters burnt.
